April 13, May 4, June 1, September 7 - Mountsier Garden 10-4
Two-acre garden for all seasons created over two decades. Owners Silas Montsier and Graeme Hardie collaborated with noted landscape designer and friend Richard Hartlage. The result: a feast for the eyes and senses. Principally a stroll garden with numerous focal points, small rooms, seating areas, private nooks, and impressive vistas. Drifts of Japanese forest grass soften strong architectural underpinnings of the garden, and brilliant plant combinations will thrill the devoted horticulturist. A collection of sculptures, artworks, and commissioned pieces is interspersed throughout as accent points and disarming bits of humor. From thousands of early spring flowering bulbs to a subtle but glorious display of green on green in the early fall, there is something new to see and enjoy on every visit.
